Dr. Galante was member of the board of the Brazilian Association of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (AB3C) from 2010 to 2014. He is currently Senior Researcher at the Hospital Sírio-Libanês Teaching and Research Institute Sírio-Libanês and Volunteer Professor at the University of São Paulo (Dept. of Biochemistry). He has experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Molecular Biology, Genomics and Cancer. As lines of research: i) seeks to understand the functional role of retrotransposable elements in the human genome and other mammals; ii) to study the role of post-transcriptional gene regulation in tumor origin and maintenance; iii) to search for new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for aggressive tumors; iv) and to development computational tools and algorithms in the areas of bioinformatics, genomics and transcriptomics.
